WHO ?

Who am I ?

I’m Laetitia Sanles and I’m a dog trainer in Gozo (Malta) for puppies and adult dogs, all breeds. Passionate about animals, and more particularly by animal psychology and positive methods, I’m here to help you understand your dog: his actions, his behaviors are not always what we think they are.

For example, did you know that when a dog yawns, it’s not because he is tired?

I practice positive education: it is a set of gentle methods that respects the dog’s character, while fitting it into the rules of human life. The training is a 3-way process: the dog/human duo and the dog trainer. You are your dog’s referent, and I’m simply going to give you the tools you need to successfully train your dog and create a beautiful bond.

After five years in a business school in Paris (France) and several professional experience, I took the professional training ‘Nature de Chien’ in Bordeaux (France) in 2019. I passed the ACACED (French Certificate of Knowledge for Pets of Domestic Species) at the CFPPA Bougainville under the following reference : Attestation de connaissance n° 2019/41a4-6d9.

Become a dog trainer to better understand dogs

Animal education reveals unsuspected things that fascinate me. We live daily with animals, but do we know them? By training in canine education and animal behavior, I understood that we cannot always compare the behavior of the dog to ours. Anthropomorphism doesn’t work with man’s best friend! Dogs have a whole bunch of little reactions that we can misinterpret, leading to communication issues between dog and human. For example, when a dog licks his nose, it often means that he does not feel comfortable. Recognizing these little signs is a big step towards optimal communication and mutual understanding

In order to complete and reinforce my knowledge about the latest methods developed in the dog world, I continue to train by doing regular internships or seminaries.

The day of the meeting

I welcomed Alf, in March 2020, I went to pick him up at La SPA de Gennevilliers (France). He was 5 months old then. He’s a 3-year-old Malinois Border Collie mix today. By his side, I learn a little more about my job and about myself every day! He accompanies me for the education sessions when possible: if the other dog accepts it and if the theme of the session lends itself to it.
